In my experience, the BuyCycle platform is not recommended. I was deceived by this platform. I bought a high-end bicycle that was advertised in perfect condition. I received a bike with a cracked carbon frame and a damaged front derailleur. Despite charging the seller for supposed protection that literally says: "COVER REPAIR COSTS IF THE BIKE ARRIVES DAMAGED OR WITH SIGNIFICANT DIFFERENCES" They only offer me as a solution, after having already invested money in the bike, to return it. Deceived by the seller and helpless by the buycycle platform. If you have a bicycle that you want to sell with a hidden defect, it is a good place.

Many years ago I bought a used Litespeed Unicoi frame off e-bay. It was their soft tail design. I loved that frame to no end. I just finished building up a new bike and gifted the Unicoi to my daughter.

I found that the barb just screws in, I bought a cheaper tool but never used it because it just screws in with small Alan key

Clint do you think it would be worth upping the fork travel to 130-140mm for a heavy rider like 235 @ 6’6 love the reviews/ I want to buy a Spur but not sure if it’s enough travel for DuPont and Pisgah black/blue trails at my weight. Currently riding a Ripmo Af and over the weight for climbing as a 50 y/o plus rider. Thanks love the new build.

Pinarello, Lee Cougan, Thömus would be my top three. I think one of these will win the Olympics in Paris (ohh, riders win not their bikes😄). The Epic - highest rated here in US it seems - not even in my top five.

Came here because I am interested in both of these bikes. Unfortunately the trail you tested them on is almost as smooth as a sidewalk by Colorado standards. I’m sure it’s hard finding legit trails in FL so of course I get it. Thanks For the review and if I ever move back to my home state of FL I’ll definitely be getting an XC bike!

Im super happy with my new XT 12 speed. Flawless shifting and 4 pot brakes are amazing in power and modulation. I built up a nos 2017 Epic frame with it. With alloy wheels and cockpit in size xl with pedals its 25.2 lbs. Super fast and fun. $2800 total with a fox 32 factory stepcast.

Amazing how light these XC bikes are these days. My Cervelo ZHT-5 also came in at under 24 LBS straight out of the box in size XL with pedals and bottle cages added; such a fast climber. I have lots of flowy trails where I live and mix my rides with gravel trails and bike paths; full-sus is not really warranted. You'll love that Lee Cougan on those tame FL trails.

Nice bike, but the headset routing for cables is such a turn-off. Why does the industry insist on this complication? Anyway, I do wonder about the soft-tail setup so I look forward to the ride review.

Can you share the seatpost diameter, and if this frame is dropper compatible?
